Jack and Lila play cars (again)

Lila is a keen observer. She's taking the opportunity (while she's immobile) to really hone in on the art of "playing cars" so she can one day keep up with her big brother!
ps: check out the brother/sister hand-holding (ahhhh-dor.):

Stay friends, little ones. The best of friends. Keep teaching eachother and kissing eachother (kissing/licking=same diff!). Keep (trying) to hold her. And keep watching him: he'll show you so much more than just how to play cars. This is only the beginning.

strollin'

Ever since Lila was born I've wanted a Sit 'n Stand stroller to accommodate both her and Jack...I finally got my wish in the form of the Joovy Caboose...just in time for the cold weather, in which we will not be able to take many walks! Awesome...

All weekend I'd been itching to take this thing for a test ride, and many walks around our kitchen just weren't enough...so I bundled up the kiddos and ventured out...

We couldn't stay out too long, damn the cold...here's ready for Spring!
PS: Jim started his new job today! (Way to go, Dad!) Things are going to be radically different around our house, as Jim will have more time downtime at home (think going to bed and waking up at normal hours!)...who knows, maybe this will mean we'll have the time/energy to keep up a clean house...but probably not...

Lila in the bumbo

Lila's practicing holding her head up! She doesn't stay in her Bumbo for long periods of time yet, but her time in the seat sort of a mini workout...with her head full of brains, it gets pretty heavy!
She likes it!

Jack plays soccer

Jack had his first instructional soccer session and loooved it! But I think even more than Jack loved playing and running, we all loved watching him. He has so much fun and I had to stop and tell myself to wipe the goofy, stage-mom smile off my face because I was just beaming with pride.

Jack had a slew of raving supporters there for him, cheering him on, reminding him that he's #1 in our books...

I'm so happy that Jack is old enough to finally be involved in sports. Jim and I both played sports growing up and ever since Jack was a baby we debated over which one of us would be his coach (I'm still holding out hope!).

My parents never missed a game. Between my and Carey's softball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, weekend-long tournaments and out of town trips, they were always there: cheering us on, "contesting" with the refs, coaching us... I finally realize how much fun it is to watch your children compete (albeit Jack's first soccer practice! Am I getting ahead of myself here?!). I'm so excited to be there as Jack (and someday Lila) learn to play sports, find their niche, and make friends along the way. I'll always be their #1 fan: cheering loudest and beaming with my goofy, stage-mom smile!

(And if sports turn out not to be their "thing", I will still be their proudest supporter in whatever they chose to do!)

You're amazing, just the way you are...

Lila Grace from Jen Greffet on Vimeo.

Whenever I'm in the car and hear Bruno Mars song, "Just the way you are", I immediately think of Lila and smile...
When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile,
The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause girl you're amazing
Just the way you are.

Lila swings, too

Just like her big brother, our little lady likes to swing, too...

Jack swings...

Possibly something just a bit "off" about this picture: winter hat and flip flops?! When Mom say's "You can swing for just 10 minutes," it would be a complete waste of 2 of those to bother putting tennies on!
Eh, what can I say?! My boy likes to swing, and will do so until he is forced in the house. I envision him swinging in the bitter cold of winter, and still not wanting to come inside even when his face is frozen and red...I love that he loves to play outside...

parent's night out...

even thoough Jason's eyes are closed...I love this pic of us...

familiar

Lila found her thumb...
and she kinda likes it! I think it's adorably cute...
Also, last night I went a little crazy obsessing over her cradle cap and ended up making her head a greasy/oily mess. I never minded the dry flaking skin until someone mentioned it, and then I became overly self conscience and felt I had to fix this...so after a major rub down with A&D and 3 shampoos later, I realized that nothing needed to be fixed at all. This thumb-sucking, dry skinned baby is a million percent perfect just that was she is! I love you, Lila. I love you no matter what you look like, smell like, do, or say. You're as perfect as your brother...

Jack & Lila Play Together

cars...

I love Lila's "Deer in the headlights" look...
Her brother will teach her that sometimes, you just have to cover your face and I'll get the hint to stop taking pictures...Maybe.
And yes, that is Jim in the background "accidentally" resting! Monday's are rough for everyone... :)

reach for the stars!

Lila's getting to be such a big girl...she's started reaching for and grabbing objects, which makes me so proud. I love watching her reach these milestones to becoming such an active little girl...

Happy Halloween!

It was Lila's first Halloween and the first time that Jack was really into the whole event so the night was a success. He warmed up to the idea of knock on stranger's doors and telling his joke, and didn't want the night to end! Needless to say, we'll have candy enough until next Halloween...

Last minute I raided my Mom's old stash of costumes and decided to participate the festivities...and Jim humored me by dressing up too! It wasn't quite the same as last year's Co-Pilot get-ups, but I have to say it was 100% more fun...

I wouldn't change anything about this little miss-moshed clown-bat-cow-pumpkin family of four for anything in the world!

And although Lila didn't brave the chilly weather to score some candy, she happily enjoyed her first Halloween indoors...

My happy little pumpkin...
