My First Blogiversary!

When Jack was born I started a scrapbook. This venture was a complete FAIL! I just didn’t have the time/creativity/energy to keep it all up. But since I’m much more technologically minded, blogging has been the perfect way to keep a running memory book.

I have so much fun looking back at Jack’s old videos, pictures, memories. He was so little! Life has changed so much and I’m so glad I have this project to go back to and remember “Back when…”. (Like back when it was summer! Oh I miss the sun!)
It’s been an amazing year, complete with my DSLR which I luuuv, our first anniversary, Jack’s 2nd Birthday, and more good times than I can even list. I feel so lucky and thankful.

The upcoming year is bound to be doubly exciting and fun, and I’m giddy (and nervous all over again) just anticipating a new baby!
Here's to another year of blogging, another baby, and many more of Jack's smiles! (If I could drink a margarita, I would raise my glass at this point!) Life is good.

...and then there were 4

Our little family is growing by the day, literally. We are expecting baby #2 in August!

Jack is soo excited to be a "Biiiig brother" and when asked if he wants a little brother or sister, he adamantly exclaims, "Sister!". We won't find out what our new little munchkin is until March, but the bets are on! Here are the first pictures of the little one (and despite what Carey thinks, baby's head is on the right!)

Just like with Jack, I’ve bypassed any morning sickness (luckily). But, I have been more tired. I think the pregnancy in addition to chasing around a rambunctious 2 year old who doesn’t want to sleep through the night (a whooooole other story!) has caused exhaustion and early onset of baby brain!

We cannot wait to welcome a new baby this summer! But now, there's so much to do, so much to think about, so much to organize...luckily, we have time (27.3 weeks or 191 days according to the over-analyzing spreadsheet I made!). PS, according to theBump, "deuce" is the size of a plum this week!

Oh happy day! :) (PS: This song is my anthem these days! I love, love, LOVE it! It's kind-of like my coffee in the morning-not that I ever drank coffee before-but I perk up a few notches when this one comes on!)

Off to Kansas City!

We're off to Kansas City for the weekend for Jim to celebrate his birthday. Pssst: He's OLD! :)

What a treat, because Ms. Ava came in to visit Jack last weekend...soon they'll start thinking cross-state traveling is a weekly habit! Anyway, we're looking forward to a lot of cousin-love time, like...

playing pretend...

and laying in bed...

and hugs that make us laugh so much...

funny faces...

and sweet breakfast dates...

bath time adventures...
and most of all hugs that smoosh our faces!
We'll be back with (hopefully) good stories and even better pictures!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Happy birthday, to...
my best guy...

the bearded man...
the cowboy...
the best Daddy...
and guys'-guy...
the joker...
and friend...

Love you so, so much! Jack is so excited to celebrate, that he made you a birthday cake out of a hamburger and french fries (100% on his own!) and proceeded to sing "Happy Birthday..." He must really love you!
