be silly today

"The most wasted of all days is one without laughter."
Here's one of Jack goofing around! As I was changing his sheets, he put 2 pacis in his mouth and kept jumping on his mattress! I think we're going to have a class clown on out hands! He makes me smile...
Oh, happy day!

Hey!

We're back from our family vaca to Table Rock lake/Branson! It was a fun week, filled with plenty of pool time and it's hard to be back! But, good news is, we (I) took roughly 600 (++) pictures and had a blast:

• POOL (Jack was a brave boy by the end of the week, and he even got into the deep end with me for about 45 seconds!)
• Boats (Little Mister loved to look at them, just don't try to put him on one!)
• The Lake (Actually, throwing rocks into the lake was the most fun ever)
• Trucks! (Since most people drive trucks/SUVs to the lake, Jack loved to point out the trucks everywhere we went...what can I say, the boy loves all things that go!)
• Silver Dollar City (Mom and Jim rode the rides...the rest of us, explored!)
• Cheezy "Olde Time" photos (in Branson, you have to do the cheezy memory-stuff!)

On a "Just-Jack" note, he's become so inquisitive! Everything he sees, he points to and says, "Wha-dat?" I love it!

He's such a big boy!

Last night, in the interest of safety (see this post), we decided it was time to convert Jack's crib to a "Big-boy Toddler Bed"...and he loved it!

He loved jumping in his new bed...

...climbing out...

more jumping...(and making the face like, "I know I'm not supposed to be doing this!")

"Uh-oh!"
And testing out his new digs...
Night-night, Baby!

And I couldn't be prouder that he stayed in his big-boy bed all night long! No falling out...no "escaping" to play with his toys...no waking up for a midnight play-date!
He did, however, manage to make a 180° flip and end up with his head at the other end...(Please notice the excessive amount of pillows and blankets next to his crib, in case of an accident! Even though his bed is a whole 5 inches off the ground...you can never be too careful!)
And he just had to cover his head when it was time to get up...(either that, or my incessant camera flashing was too much for 6am!!)

He's just growing up so fast: sleeping in his new bed (and I'm sure we will have some stories from our little escape artist to come), going potty on the big-boy potty (Aunt CC has pictures of this...I swear, right Care!), singing, talking, running, (definetly NOT throwing tantrums...not my Jack!)...what a big boy!
Next thing you know, he'll be driving and bringing home his first girlfriend...I think I have about 20 years until I have to worry about that, right?!!?

girls just can't do it!

I would like to preface this post by saying I believe that girls are just as good as boys. Like Obama said, "Yes we can!"...but in this instance, "No, we [women] cannot!"

What on earth am I talking about?!?! Well, please observe Jack here:

This is his favorite position: "Crouching Jackson..."

And he's always bee able to do it, like in this post when he's playing with Papa and hunkered down!

I don't know any girls that can squat like this: flat-footed (this is the key...heels must be flat to the ground), down in the sitting position...

I have a hard time being told that I cannot do something ("No" is definitely not a word I like to hear!), but I've tried and tried to recreate this and I just cannot...it's a boy thing! I've come to terms with the cold, hard facts of life!

Don't believe me? You try...right now, male or female, boy or girl: hunker down in Jack's favorite position and tell me if you fall over! Have your friends and family try and let's get to the bottom of this debacle!
And ps girls, it doesn't count if you're wearing heels...apparently that's cheating!

"Superman is my Hero!"

"You don't raise heroes, you raise sons. And if you treat them like sons, they'll turn out to be heroes, even if it's just in your own eyes." (Author Unknown)

Superman may be his hero (as proclaimed on his shirt), but he is mine! (wink, wink!)

Summer Fun!

Oh, my water baby just loves summer! Last weekend we went to our neighbors 4th birthday party...I love kids parties!

Can you almost hear the excitement in his scream!

And the lovely birthday girl who I totally heart!

Blowing out all 4 princess candles!

And we had an impromptu photoshoot with my other neighbor love...

So cute!

and Jack enjoying the day...

Between the innocence of babyhood and the dignity of manhood, we find a delightful creature of a boy. (unknown)

Jack's (Our) Morning Routine

When we walked into daycare at promtly 6:30 (as usual), Jack teacher (from around the corner) said, "Is that Jack?"..."Are we that predictable!" I replied...to which she noted with a laugh, "If you weren't here we'd be worried!"...
I love schedules! Sticking to a schedule makes our life predictable, and thus easier on all...it also makes for a happy Jack!
So this is our morning routine! After we're up and dressed, it's breakfast time! Jack is doing so well with using his spoon! (Notice how his left hand is clenched as he tried so hard to get the perfect scoop!)

And then uses said left hand to assist with the scoop!

After breakfast we make the 0.31 mile treck to daycare! (PS: we don't walk there!)

And Jack unlocks the door!

We get to his room and he quickly finds the nearest car-car!
And then moves the booster chairs to the ground to get the room ready for all his friends...
And then, with any luck, Jack doesn't cry and gives me a happy smile to brighten my day!

He made my day!

Jack and I are early birds (not as early as Daddy, getting up at 2:30 am, but still...) so we usually get to daycare before his "teacher". So today, we took advantage and played on the play set!

It totally made my day to see him so happy! I hope these pictures brighten your day as well!

Getting ready to climb the stairs...

"I'm gonna get you!"

"Look how big I am!"

"Are you watching, Mama?"

"...wee!"

So happy!

"Mama: Don't look now but there's another little boy in the mirror!"
"Ahhh!"
(Oh this face!)
What the...?! Who's looking at who?
Oh Happy Day!
