Bubbles in the sink

Who knew that filling the sink up with bubbles was so entertaining!?

Messy? Yes, but really, it's bubbles! So thank you, Jack, for cleaning my counter tops...

and flinging bubbles all over...

and cleaning yourself in the process!

He also managed to find a more convenient way to get a drink of water...no more silly cups!

I love how he finds such enjoyment in the simplest things...

Take me out to the ballgame!

OMG! We went to the Cards game last night, and although they lost (boo), we had the BEST night!

#1: Amazing parking
#2: Yummy food
# : AWESOME seats: second row behind home plate…I could practically smell Albert and Holliday!
#3: Super fun company (Mom, Herb, and Jim)
#4: Did I mention I met Jack Clark and Whitey Herzog!!! Apparently, I turn into a babbling, shaking fool when I meet someone of notoriety. (I’ll have to work on that in case I happen to come across Brad Pitt or Robert Pattinson!) But I did get some autographs for my Jack!

It's the climb...

Let me start by acknowledging that, yes, I am a nerd! And yes, the post title is from the...Hannah Montana song, The Climb, and yes, I know it's super cheesy but:

#1: I love it (and I don't care who knows!)
#2: It reminds me of my friend, Laura, who isn't around to make me laugh everyday!
#3: It just fits perfectly with today’s pictures!

I can almost see it, that dream I am dreaming. But there's a voice inside my head saying, "You'll never reach it".

Every step I'm taking. Every move I make feels lost with no direction. My faith is shaking.
But I gotta keep trying. Gotta keep my head held high.
There's always gonna be another mountain; I'm always gonna wanna make it move...
Always gonna be a uphill battle. Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose.

Ain't about how fast I get there.

Ain't about what's waiting on the other side.

It's the climb!

I may not know it, but these are the moments that I'm gonna remember most...

(smile) Ladies, not only is Jack brave, but he's a rule-breaker! See: what a rebel!

Note: I do not condone breaking City Ordinances (usually). In fact, I was freaking out the whole time they were climbing, because I could just see the "Park Police" coming to bust us, but thankfully, we avoided authoritative notice! Whew! Disaster averted.... (I blame/attribute my complete fear of all authority to my Mom! Thanks, Mommer!)

Trying to be crafty...

A while ago, while cruising one of my favorite design sites, design*sponge, I found this awesome little DIY project and saved it for another day.

Well, that "another day" happened to be my Mom's birthday...and so I put on my wanna-be-crafter hat and got to work. I pretty much followed the directions exactly, except I hand wrote my letters, and her drilled* holes are a lot cleaner, and I used a blank piece of wood and painted it with acrylics.

*Note: when drilling holes, make sure the drill is in the "forward" position instead of the "reverse" position! This can cause major frustration until someone (oh, let's just say your husband) notices that it shouldn't take a steel drill bit to make holes in this 1+ inch piece of wood (unless it was like, Kryptonite wood) and corrects the amateur error! :)

I kinda love it! Now my mind is spinning with all sorts of fun new projects with this: different colors and words for each season/holiday, initials, names...so much fun!


Speaking of love...here's a picture from our vacation...these little, "love plants" (as I call them) lined the pool area we visited everyday (rain or shine). I just adore how they are perfect little hearts...
