Firetruck Rally!

This weekend we went down to the Landing to watch the Annual Firetruck Rally! Let me tell you: Jack was in firetruck heaven...oh lawdy!

We watched the firetruck parade and Jack waved to all the Firemen and women as they passed and blared the sirens! (I thought he would be scared because it was so loud, but he made the firetruck noises right along with them!)

He couldn't even be bothered to look at Daddy for a picture...too much to see!

And the balloon! Oh, the balloon! That was the icing on the cake!

Oh, and Daddy was just as into the firetrucks as Jack was! I even think he was a little disappointed when Jack didn't want to go in the firetruck (because then he didn't have an excuse to go!)

Boys and their trucks...I'll never understand!

family faces

Family faces are magic mirrors. Looking at people who belong to us, we see the past, present and future. (Gail Buckley )

l-o-v-e this! I took a profile shot of Jack and worked Photoshop magic to create this gem! I'm the first to admit it is not perfect, but it is adorable (...if I do say so myself)!

Happy Birthday, Herb/Papa!

Man in Boat with Golfclub:
Jack loves you so...

and looks up to you...

and loves to play around with you...
And he's glad you don't go on amusement park rides either: so he has a buddy to hang with...
and feed him snowcones that are bigger than his head!

You always love to have fun, and make us all laugh (see first picture: Man in Boat with Golfclub)
You're a good friend...
...and we all love you so much.

Happy Birthday!
And Mr. Jack wanted to say "Happy Birthday" and blow some kisses your way! Enjoy...

Those who love the young best stay young longer. (Edgar Friedenberg)

I wanna be a cowboy baby!

It was Greffet Family bonding at the rodeo this weekend! We took a horseback ride on the trails of KCMO...

Jack's face says it all! He was terrified of the horse...

Here’s Jack and Grandma…neither were too keen on the idea of horseback riding…but Jack did manage to make that helmet look good!

Here's Ava and Jennie. Don't let this picture decieve you...after the horse started moving, Ava's smile quickly disappeared...

...and turned to this:

But Jim definetly enjoyed the ride.

Aunt Jennie bought Jack his first pair of cowboy boots...he loved them!
And he loved checking out the sights!

Here's the whole fam at the rodeo...we scream "City Slickers"!
And here we are hittin' the dusty trail...
More cowboy and rodeo pictures to come! And it was just our luck that the IGRA (International Gay Rodeo Association) was hosting a rodeo this weekend! Jack and Ava had so much fun checking out the horses, tractors, and dirt: oh the dirt! (Stay tuned, plenty more pictures from the rodeo to come.)

Kansas!

No joke...we're heading off to Kansas City tonight to hang with the in-laws, and this was on my "Life's Little Instruction Calendar" today (wierd, huh?!):
Have a lovely (long) weekend...I'm sure we'll come back with plenty of pictures of Mister Jack and his cousin, Ava (but the SLR is broken so I'm already bummin!). But for now, here's Cowboy Jack:
ps: I hear there's horseback riding this weekend...hmmm

Shake it like a Polaroid picture!

Wowza! Do you love Polaroids? Well...you must go check out Poladroid and turn all of your favorite pictures into vintage-looking Polaroids!

I'm absolutely loving this; it is for real the easiest program to use. Once you download the (free) software:
  • You drag and drop whatever pictures you want converted into Polaroid-style.
  • Then, just like real Polaroids, you "Shake it, sh-sh-sh-shake it like a Polaroid picture! Heeeey ya!" (Outkast, anyone? No?! Okay, just wait while the pic "develops".)
  • And voila! Your picture is now a vintage Polaroid! Don't you love?!? I more than love it...

I might have to make a weekly Polaroid Day! Here's a few I {heart}!

*Notes: Before you start "taking pictures", change the Poladroid settings so all your pictures go into a specified folder for easy access. Also, you can only make 10 at a time before you have to close the program and start over: Ctrl+Alt+Del and end process...and then just restart Poladroid!
Thanks to Little Boo Blue for the idea!
