this weekend...

I have big plans this weekend…including (but not limited to):

• straightening up the house
• drinking some wine from a box
• collecting cicada shells for Jack’s new collection (is this gross?)
• watching Lila crawl around (because she finally started, yippee-yahoo…oh crap I have to start cleaning my floors!)
• painting my nails a fun color (yellow, maybe)
• cutting the grass (yes, this is fun to me)
• drinking beer from a can
• hanging with my favs

…extra long weekend, I love you!

Hoppy

Today is a little Easter party at daycare, so Lila tried on her bunny ears...for about 3 seconds. Just long enough for me to gush over the cuteness! Please excuse the crappy cell phone pic and pile of laundry about to topple over on the chair!

Jack helped me make treat bags for his friends with a cute printable via eighteen25 (my new fav!).

And even though Jack sneaked a few marshmallows when I was (pretending) I wasn't looking...I think his friends will enjoy their Bunny Tails...

So much can change in 3 years...this was Jack's first Easter (2008) when he was 3 or 4 months old...

Seriously...this seems like forever ago...and yet it doesn't...

Trashed

“The leprechaun trashed our room! And he left footprints everywhere, and turned our tables over, and he left us gold coins and bouncy balls…that stinky leprechaun!”
(Lila looks suspiciously at Jack here..."What's this boy gonna do, Mom?!")

Jack had a magical St. Patrick’s day: green popcorn, green juice, Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, and a bunch of shenanigans from that silly leprechaun.

It made me so happy because for holidays like Christmas and Easter, Jack expects visits from the respective mascots. But St. Patrick’s day was unexpected and magical, and he and his friends had so much fun with the wonder of it all! I love to see him with such belief…it makes me believe a little more too…

Plus, I told Jack that the stink leprechaun must have trashed my house, too and that’s why it’s in such disarray!
PS: Jack goes to an awesome daycare and I love that they take such wonderful care of my babies...they are the best!

O beautiful for spacious skies

A few pics of our proud American boy at the 4th of July parade...after the firetrucks passed, it was pretty much all downhill for Jack, except that he did touch SpongeBob in real life...but the firetrucks were still the highlight! See his excitement!

Jack couldn't make it through the whole parade...the sun just wears that little guy out! So we crossed the street about halfway through the parade...so we were pretty infamous for a few seconds when we walked in the parade!

Hoppy Easter!

I'm soooo looking forward to this Easter weekend! I thought I'd reminisce and look back at Jack's first Easter in 2008 (just over 3 months old). Where has the time gone?!? My little Easter bunny is all grown up (kind of)...

Here he is looking a little disillusioned with the over sized bunny holding him...

And fair warning, this bunny is kinda scary looking! :) It may help explain his disillusionment above.

This year we're looking forward to Easter egg hunting and (hopefully) sleeping in, some 7-layer salad and ham, and mostly some sweet-Spring weather! Boo ya!

On a baby note, our little girl is measuring in at 10.5 inches (head to toe; previous measurements were head to bottom)! Sounds big, right?!
